The National Petroleum Authority, NPA has engaged members of the Council of State on the LPG Cylinder Recirculation Model at the council chambers in Accra.
The NPA team led by its Chief Executive, Alhassan Tampuli briefed members of the council on the newly introduced model of LPG consumption and also canvas their support for its implementation.
Addressing the Council, Mr Tampuli said key reasons for the policy include that of the need to improve safety, health and environment in the value chain
“ it’s also to respond to the question of affordability, availability and accessibility across the country, he added.
Mr Tampuli also told members of the Council that, the jobs of Ghanaians remain protected under the policy and “are going to be the fulcrum of the policy when it is rolled out.”
Chairman of the Council Nana Otuo Siriboe II, who chaired the meeting, advised the Authority to continue with its consultation process in order to incorporate the views of everyone expected to be affected by the policy.
“ at the end of the day,” he explained, “ the policy should inure to the benefit of the Ghanaian people.”
Since the policy was announced, the NPA has been carrying out sustained consultation with various stakeholders to ensure various views are incorporated into a workable document acceptable by the various interested parties.
