With Citi FM’s Easter Orphan Project just days away, staff from the Chamber for Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) has done their bid to put smiles on the faces of the orphans Citi FM will reach out to.
The staff from CBOD have bolstered Citi FM’s efforts by donating 10 5kg bags of rice and GHc2,000 towards the outreach which will come off on Easter Monday, March 28 as part of its corporate social responsibility activities.
Their donation will go towards the support the vocational training center at the Baptist School Complex (BASCO), an orphanage at Trotor, near Suhum in the Eastern Region, the Handivangelism Orphanage at Haatso in Accra and Mama Laadi Orphanage at Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
Citi FM, with help of donations from individuals and corporate entities like CBOD, is hoping to equip the training center at BASCO with the requisite tools needed to facilitate proper training as well support the general well-being of the wards of the various orphanages.
The participants of Citi FM’s maiden Heritage Caravan also donated GHc1,500 towards the Easter Monday outreach.
The presentation involved Citi FM’s Kojo Akoto Boateng and Ebenezer Essel Barnes who both featured on the Caravan that toured Ghana and visited cultural landmarks across 8 regions.
The Easter Orphan Project is Citi FM’s annual social responsibility project, which raises funds and collects items from its cherished listeners, to support selected orphanages and under -developed communities in the country.
Over the years, Citi FM has also extended help to the Akuse and Kumasi Prisons among others.
