The Ministry of Energy has launched a Health, Safety,Security and Environment (HSSE) manual for the country’s energy sector.
The manual is to provide the standard requirements for ensuring a positive safety culture in the energy sector.
The aim of the manual is to ensure that organisations in the sector follow the minimum requirements to direct and shape them in the development of their operational procedures and processes in handling HSSE issues.
Speaking at the event at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, Dr Mohammed Amin Adams, Deputy Minister of Energy( Petroleum) said, due to the growth in the energy sector ,the government would continue to show support and develop the sector through policies and programs to ensure that the growth is sustainable.
Dr Amin urged all industry players to put the safety of their staff first and also promote good environmental practices by complying with international best practices and the country’s standards and regulations.
