Juwel Energy Limited has been declared the ‘Bulk Oil Distributing Company (BDC) Company of the Year’ at the 2019 Ghana Oil and Gas Awards.
This is the second time in succession that the wholly Ghanaian downstream oil and gas company has won the award after it picked a similar award in 2018.
Juwel Energy also won the Indigenous Oil And Gas Company of the Year. The awards ceremony was held on December 13 at the Mövenpick Hotel in Accra.
The citation accompanying the award read:
“In 2018 Juwel Energy enjoyed about 12.39% of BDC market share and as of August 2019, the company had grown its market share by about 6.30% and moved into the number two rank compared to the third position in the previous year.
“In July 2019, Juwel was wielding 13.17% market share in a highly competitive and saturated BDC sector.
“The company imported about 377,278.86 metric tonnes of petroleum products into the country and thereby contributed significantly to national supply security and economic sustainability.
“A major supply partner to such foremost indigenous Oil Marketing Companies
“Through its consistent supply, Juwel has increased its offerings to the market in 2017/2018 and through the 2018/2019 period it has deepened its services to clients leading to growth in Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK) market share from 23.49% to about 33% of ATK consumed in Ghana.”
